UPSC Preparation Strategy 2025
UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of the most Published and Competitive exams in India. It consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination (Prelims), Mains Examination, and Personality Test (Interview). Due to the large syllabus, aspirants always felt helplessness to strategize their preparation effectively. A comprehensive study plan based on month ensures that you cover all aspects of the syllabus step by step without leaving anything for the end.
In this blog, we present a 12-month UPSC Preparation Strategy 2025 in which we divide the preparation into Phases, namely Foundation, Intensive Study, Prelims-Focused Preparation and Mains & Interview Preparation. This plan if followed with a high level of affiliation, will help the aspirants to achieve subsequent targets in the same year.
Phase 1: Foundation (Months 1-3) – Building Conceptual Clarity
The first 90 days are spent building a solid conceptual framework. During this stage, the candidates should start reading the NCERT books from Class 6 to 12 in order to understand the basic concepts of History, Geography, Polity, Economy and Science. As UPSC is a concept-based exam, rather than directly moving to advanced books, it is imperative that you know these basics.
After NCERTs, books like M. Laxmikanth Polity, Spectrum Modern History and Ramesh Singh Economy should be brought in step by step. Make reading newspapers like The Hindu or The Indian Express a daily habit and keep your current affairs topped up. Also, Subscribe to Yojana, Kurukshetra and PIB reports to get knowledge about Government schemes and socio-economic issues.
